Metro North Senior Architect |

Location: Parkgate Street, Dublin 8 Reports to: RPA Chief Architect & Metro North Project Engineer Contract Terms: To be agreed Anticipated Start Date: Immediate Anticipated Duration: Approx 24 months
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Metro North is at the centre of the Governments €34 billion 10 year investment Strategy Transport 21. Metro North runs for approximately 18km and is a mixed underground and over ground railway between Dublin City Centre and the northern suburb of Swords, via Dublin Airport. The project is being promoted as a Public Private Partnership (PPP) with ultimate responsibility for the design, build, finance, maintenance and operations resting with private sector concessionaires. RPA is a state Agency responsible for the procurement and planning of the project and is now seeking to recruit key project team members to help steer the management of the statutory planning process and procurement to financial close, the role may then be expanded to include the construction phase on the Metro North project.
The primary function of this role is to assist the Chief Architect with the management of the architectural input to the Metro North Project. The role may also require the candidate to carry out other duties associated with the Architectural responsibilities of the Railway Procurement Agency including the Luas Light Rail project.
Key duties will include:
- Participate in the RPA tender evaluation team in relation all Metro North Architecture including answering bidders technical queries, attending bidders meetings, participating in wider bidders workshops and carrying out the tender evaluation of the Architectural aspects of the PPP bids.
- In consultation with RPA Interface Managers liaise with third party stakeholders such as local authorities, developers, private owners and the general public, Architects and third party designers and advise on RPA architectural requirements and manage Architectural technical feedback into the Metro North design team.
- Assist in the preparation of Architectural documentation for later stages of the Metro North project procurement including the preparation of output specifications and drawings.
- Assist in the preparation of Architectural documentation as part of the Metro North railway order process including EIS inputs where appropriate.
- Assist in the review of InfraCo Architectural submissions and provide comment in accordance with the terms of the Metro North PPP contract.
- If required and where applicable under the terms of the Metro North PPP contract carry out inspection and approval of works on site and attendance at site meetings as RPA’s Architectural representative
- Assist with managing all Architectural information to be uploaded into the Metro North Data Room
- Assist in ensuring that all Architectural aspects of the project meet the relevant statutory Codes and Laws
- Regularly monitor and review risk registers for the project Architecture.
- Additional areas of responsibility outside of the Metro North project will include co-ordination of Conservation and Heritage works, disability and access issues and public arts. The Senior Architect will be expected to provide support for these areas.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
· Fully qualified Architect · Minimum of 8 years job experience at Senior level · Experience of dealing with public institutions and working on high profile large-scale public transport projects is desirable · Computer and CAD proficiency is essential and Microstation experience is desirable · A full driving licence is required.
